Defined by our people.

Our firm is designed to operate as one—a single global partnership united by a strong set of values, including a deep commitment to diversity.

We take a consistent approach to recruiting and skills development regardless of where our people are located, so that we can quickly deliver the right team, with the right experience and expertise, to every client, anywhere in the world.

Code of Professional Conduct

We are a values-driven organization and aspire to meet the highest professional, legal, and ethical standards.

SEPCAM is committed to making a positive social impact through our work with our clients and in the way we run our firm.

Our code of professional conduct

Our code of professional conduct defines a set of expectations for the behavior of all firm members. It serves as a guide to help colleagues understand the core elements of our policies and how those policies are anchored in our values. We expect all colleagues to comply with this code of professional conduct and we expect others working on our behalf, such as contractors, advisors, and other suppliers, to act in a manner that is consistent with our code.

As participants in the United Nations Global Compact, we support The Ten Principles on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.

We strive to provide individuals with disabilities equal access to our website. If you would like information about this content, we will be happy to work with you. We also work in collaboration with others to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals, like Generation, the youth employment nonprofit we found, which we hope contributes towards Goal 8: Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all.

As outlined in our Human Rights statement, we support the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights and employees’ rights of freedom of association and to take part in collective-bargaining processes. Beyond our own firm, we take seriously our commitment to assist organizations and grass-roots initiatives that promote human rights and tackle forced-labor and child-labor practices.

Consistent with our commitment to inclusion and diversity, we aspire to maintain a work environment that supports, inspires, and respects all of our colleagues, applicants, and clients. It is our expectation that all firm members are able to work in an environment free from harassment and discrimination.

As a firm, we take seriously our responsibility for the environmental sustainability of our operations and our offices take steps to reduce our environmental footprint. We also serve private, public, and social sector clients across the world on steps they are taking to address climate change.

SEPCAM stands firmly against bribery and corruption in all its forms. We expressly prohibit any form of bribe or kickback and we are committed to fully comply with the anti-corruption laws of all the jurisdictions in which we operate.

We have strict policies and professional standards that apply to every member of the firm. Any potential breach of these ethical standards is subject to comprehensive investigation, with appropriate action taken. We have clear internal procedures for firm members to report concerns about values, ethics and professional conduct. Additionally, our confidential and impartial Ombud program is available to help firm members with these and other issues, including managing interpersonal or inter-team conflicts or personal concerns.

Powered by knowledge.

Our work is founded on a rigorous understanding of every client’s institutional context, sector dynamics, and macroeconomic environment. For this reason, we invest more than $600 million of our firm’s resources annually in knowledge development, learning and capability building. We study markets, trends, and emerging best practices, in every industry and region, locally and globally. Our investment in knowledge also helps advance the practice of management. We publish our findings extensively, and we engage with leading thinkers on the most pressing issues facing our clients and society.

Always innovating

Our clients’ needs are constantly changing, so we continually seek new and better ways to serve them. To do this, we are bringing new talent into the firm, acquiring new companies, and developing new capabilities, for example, in design, analytics, and digital.

We serve clients at every level of their organization, whether as a trusted advisor to top management or as a hands-on coach for front line employees. We partner with clients to put recommendations into practice and work directly with them over the long-term, to help develop workforce skills, drive operational improvement, and apply new working methods.

No matter the challenge, we focus on delivering practical and enduring results, and equipping our clients to grow and lead.

What do we do?

Management consultants work with businesses to improve their performance by providing expert advice to solve problems and encourage growth. We work with businesses across a wide range of sectors, including business strategy, finance, project management, HR and EPC management, asset management. It’s not just private firms - many public institutions use management consulting to improve their practices and efficiency.

In basic terms the role of the consultant is to provide their client with an audit of current procedures, their recommendation for improvement and an action plan for implementation. They can be brought in by a business to advise senior management on a specific project or more broadly on the structure and practices of a firm.

Why do businesses use them?

The management consultant will often be filling in for a skill gap a business has. It can be much cheaper to source external help than hiring new individuals or even a team to manage a project or task.

A consultant is likely to have expertise in a certain area, which a business may not have internally. Plus, we can focus on the project on hand without getting distracted by the day-to-day running of the business. Consultancies range in what they provide, with larger firms offering end-to-end solutions while others may focus their expertise in a specific area.

How does a management consulting project work?

As we are usually providing advice on a specific issue, the work of a strategy consultant tends to involve a lot of data analysis. A project will usually go as follows:

  • Problem definition – What problem are we trying to solve?
  • Approach – How are we going to investigate this problem?
  • Data gathering – Find out everything we can about the issue.
  • Data Analysis – What does our data show?
  • Advice – What is the best solution according to our data and expertise?
  • Implementation – Enact positive change based on the recommendations.
